Rose coloured dreams

BY SUMAYYA JAMIL. LONDON, U.K. HEART ALWAYS IN PAKISTAN

Falouda2

With the sun beating down on you the sight of this rosy, cool delight was what kept me going. That one extra moment of homework or that final step home before I was greeted by an icy treat. Lying on the table, inviting yet taunting would be that pink fragrant dream of sweetness that would melt away the woes of a achingly steaming day.

Blessed with the essence of roses and the hue of baby cheeks, Falouda was more inviting to me growing up than any other treat. The sight and flavour reminds me comfort, bliss, safety and takes me to my forever home, Pakistan.
