Just one look at the durian tells you that it has got a place right up there on the fruit pyramid!
For many people, myself included, the smell that this fruit produces is actually the beginning of experiencing the taste of the fruit itself. The durian is like no other. I would descibe it as smooth, creamy, sweet, very rich and decadent.
Tasting this custrad like fruit, together with its aromatic fragrance, you are steadily intoxicated into having another piece.
On the other hand, for many others, the smell of the durian is the first thing that turns them off into actually trying the fruit. It has been described as anything from rotting onions to a dead animal!
But one thing is for sure though, you do not know what you are missing if you do not sink your lips and teeth into one of these custard jewels……
